TLC Tips for Your lips

During the summer when there’s lots of moisture in the air, your lips become like sponges, absorbing water keeping them plump and moisturized. Come Fall and Winter, the change in temperature and lack of humidity causes your lips to dehydrate and dry out, even become cracked and sore. Along with the fact that lips have no oil or sweat glands and are in constant contact with irritants such as spicy food, hot and cold drinks, environmental pollutants, Fall is the perfect time to give your lips a little TLC.

Here are a some simple home remedies to help combat some typical lip issues. Using simple ingredients from the pantry, you can have luscious lips all year round.

DARK PIGMENT

Honey Do you have dark pigments on your lips from too much sun? Well honey is your new best friend. Not only is it beneficial in getting rid of those dark pigments, regular use will keep your lips looking soft and luscious. And, if your lips are in need of a little exfoliating, try using a little honey on a toothbrush and brush gently over your lips for super smooth results. Finish by rolling on GingerChi Heal & Shine.

Cucumbers Cool cucumbers are also great for getting rid of dark pigments. Just cut the cucumber into thin slices, then rub the slices over your lips in circular motion for a few minutes. Apply GingerChi Heal & Shine Roll-On to keep your lips looking soft and pink.

Just mix a teaspoon of sugar with a teaspoon of honey and rub over your lips in a circular motion. Then relax, leaving it on your lips for 10 minutes before rinsing off to reveal soft lovely lips. Finish off with an application of GingerChi Heal & Shine.

This is a great anti-aging beauty tip that you can do daily but expect to see results in as little as 3 days.

Oil vs Balm

For years, the typical way to combat dry lips has been through using with a lip balm. Where balms tend to create a thick protective layer, oils actually help in a speedy recovery of your lips due to their softening and nourishing properties. Not only do oils help bring moisture back into lips, they nurture and renew the skin cells and repair the skin. What’s better than that?
