Benefits of Dry Brushing

The skin is an eliminative organ and a build-up of dead cells on the surface decreases its ability to effectively remove toxins. Dry brushing helps exfoliate dead skin cells, aid in lymphatic drainage, removal of toxins in tissues and assists with the break up of cellulite. It is also improves overall energy by stimulating meridians to revitalize Chi. To enhance benefits of Dry Brushing, apply GingerChi Juniper Toning Body Oil after bathing.

Our Jute Meridian Body Dry Brush is made with Jute fibers, which are soft, and ideal for those with thin and sensitive skin or those who are new to dry brushing. The jute bristles are gentle yet firm, but just as effective as the more commonly known Sisal fibers. As skin gets acclimatized, one may then opt for the more vigorous and stimulating Sisal Meridian Body Dry Brush.

Jute fibers, wood, cotton, steel wires

We highly recommend dry brushing using both the Sisal and the Hand-held Jute, in order to cover all areas of the body comfortably. The Sisal is 9.5 inches long with a cotton wrapped 5-inch long handle can be held comfortably to help reach the back areas as well as the legs and feet. For the more sensitive areas, the Hand-held Jute fits nicely in the palm, allowing more control over the amount of pressure exerted.Dry brushing takes about 5 – 10 minutes but the results are well worth it. Soft skin and so relaxing!

Love this brush! The Jute brush is softer than another body brush I own, and actually prefer how the GingerChi brush feels against my skin. The circulation has improved in my legs and my cellulite has started to disappear. The instructions on the tag are so helpful and easy to follow. Such a simple thing to do for yourself that has quickly resulted in better looking and feeling skin. Highly recommend!

Q1: How often should I dry bush
A: Dry brushing should be done once or twice a week. If you have very sensitive skin, try doing it once every few weeks.

Q2: What is the difference between the Jute and Sisal?
A: Jute fiber softer than sisal fiber. Both can be used for dry brushing. Jute brushes are recommended if you haven’t tried out dry brushing before since it’s softer and is gentler on the skin to get used to this routine.

Q3: What are the benefits of dry brushing?
A: Dry brushing is great for the lymphatic system by helping to remove toxins from the body. It also is great for skin exfoliation and possibly reducing cellulite from the massage the bristles have against your skin.
