My Homemade Hydrating Mask Recipe
My Homemade Hydrating Mask Recipe
Cucumber is one of the best cooling masks to soothe you through a hot summer. A natural source of hydration, cucumber is packed with vitamin C and caffeic acid to help soothe irritation, clear imperfections and reduce puffiness. Here's my go-to recipe whenever I need a simple hydration quick fix in this summer heat. Most of the ingredients can be found at home. :-)
Cucumber Yoghurt Mask
Ingredients:
- cucumber, peeled & thinly sliced
- tablespoons plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon honey
Step 1:
Mix the cucumber slices, yogurt and honey until a puree is formed.
The mask should have a smooth creamy consistency. I've also added one of my favorite summer facial mist into the mask as it contains rose water and chamomile, which helps to tone, calm and heal my sun-bathed skin.
Keep the mask cool in your fridge until you're ready to use.
Step 2:
Apply a thin layer of the mask to your face and leave on for 20 mins.
Rinse with cool water and pat dry.
Step 3 (Optional):
To help lock in that moisture and reinvigorate your skin throughout the day, Gingerchi Mist is a hydrating blend of ginger, rose and chamomile.
You may keep any leftover cucumber mask in your fridge, where it should last for up to one week. Use as often as you'd like.
I hope you'd enjoy this mask.
